  • The University of the District of Columbia extends a warm welcome to applicants, undergraduates and postgraduates with disabilities. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy your academic studies and university life to the fullest. Our many students and alumni with disabilities who have gone before you have made us proud of their academic and personal achievements.

The university is committed to providing equal and integrated access for individuals with disabilities to all the academic, social, cultural, and recreational programs it offers. We work with students to ensure access to every opportunity for learning and personal growth so that students with disabilities may participate as fully as possible in campus life. Students are expected and encouraged to utilize the resources of the Accessibility Resource Center to the degree they determine necessary. Although a significant degree of independence is expected of students, the Accessibility Resource Center is available to assist, should the need arise.

  • In order to assist new, returning, and transfer students with their off-campus housing needs, UDC provides Off-Campus Housing Services. The mission of Off-Campus Housing Services is to acclimate students to the campus, the larger Van Ness community, and Washington, D.C., at large. Specifically, these services are designed to support all students in making well-informed decisions when acquiring housing in and around the Washington, DC, area and connect them to campus and community resources. These activities will help the Office of Residence Life and Off-Campus Housing Services to accomplish the following goals:

    - Promote student independence and community interdependence

    - Serve as liaisons between students, faculty, staff, and community agencies
